Probably the most significant Chinese company involved in coal gasification based power generation with CCS is the GreenGen Co., Ltd (GreenGen)

GreenGen was formed on 23rd December, 2005 and its shareholders include the country’s top five power generators (China Huaneng Group, China Datang Corporation, China Huadian Corporation, China Guodian Corporation and China Power Investment Corporation), the two biggest coal producers (Shen Hua Group and China National Coal Group) and a major investment company (State Development and Investment Corporation). China Huaneng Group owns 51% of GreenGen with the other seven companies owning 7% each.

CPP has been in contact with GreenGen since January, 2007 and made a presentation to them in Beijing in April, 2007.
